Mary (10) lives with her mother and three siblings after the tragic death of their father and she has been struggling with self-esteem issues and teasing due to her height. Although her mother works hard to support the family, financial constraints left Mary unable to afford supplies for a class project where students create and "sell" products. Without the needed materials, she felt excluded and feared others would find out about her family’s financial difficulties. Alice’s Kids provided a gift card, allowing the student to purchase the items and fully participate in the project.

"Mary was able to purchase the items required to make her products. Her whole business was about scented ‘genie bottles’ that a person could shake or smell when they experience negative feelings. She used food coloring, sparkles, and a variety of scents in her jars. You should have seen the smile on her face while creating her products in school! It was a complete creative process for her. She even named different styles of genie bottles after different people in the classroom that they represented. She sold out of every single product!"

Computers are practically required these days but many children still cannot afford one.  We regularly pay for laptops.

Today was his first day of school. He was anxious, antsy, and excited all wrapped into one! My client stated that the electronic tablet helped boost her son's self-esteem academically. He's more confident with site words and numbers. He held his head high and confidently walked into his classroom this morning.”

“Erica (11) was accepted into an after-school program for computer coding, but the family could not afford the supplies.  Thanks to Alice's Kids, they were able to purchase the supplies for her and she completed the program, relishing every moment of the class.”

In a matter of weeks, Tonya )9)  was able to create different types of art with the free application that her new tablet offers. She is now working on creating her very own art brand. Her future goal is to sell her merch and help her mother pay a few bills to help make ends meet. She also just joined the art club and made a friend in school to help her with her marketing.”
